Hit-and-Run on Florence Avenue in Los Angeles Leaves Bicyclist in Critical Condition

 
LOS ANGELES, CA (May 13, 2021) – A bicyclist sustained critical injuries after a hit-and-run on Florence Avenue in Los Angeles Monday night.
 
The incident happened around 6:55 p.m. on May 10, near Flower Street. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, a maroon Kia Optima with black rims was traveling eastbound on Florence Avenue. At the same time, the cyclist was crossing westbound on Flower Street.
 
The Kia made a right turn from the second lane of Florence Avenue and hit the cyclist. The driver of the car then fled the scene, speeding southbound on Flower Street.
 
The impact thrown the cyclist onto the roadway. Firefighter paramedics rushed the victim to a local hospital in critical condition.
 
Police are still investigating and on the lookout for the suspect. They asked anyone with any information to contact Detective Ramirez, South Traffic Division at 323-421-2500.
