59-Year-Old Man Dies in Hit-and-Run Crash on Clairemont Drive in San Diego

 
SAN DIEGO, CA (April 24, 2021) – Douglas Bailey died in a hit-and-run crash Saturday morning near in a Bay Park area.
 
The crash happened around 9:15 a.m. on April 17 in the 3000 block of Clairemont Drive mid-block near Burgener Boulevard. According to the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office, the 59-year-old San Diego resident was crossing the street when a white car hit him.
 
As a result, Bailey suffered significant injuries. Paramedics rushed him to Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla, where he died about five hours later.
 
The driver of the involved car did not stop after the crash.
 
Authorities are still investigating the incident and on the lookout for the suspect.
