Morning Pedestrian Accident on Highway 101 in San Jose Ends in Fatality

 
SAN JOSE, CA (March 30, 2021) – A woman was killed Friday morning after a pedestrian accident on Highway 101 near the connector ramp to 280 Freeway.
 
The accident happened just before 5:15 a.m. on March 26. According to the California Highway Patrol, the woman was walking on the highway when more than one vehicle struck her.
 
First responders found the woman down in one of the lanes of Highway 101 with significant injuries. They provided life-saving efforts, but the victim died at the scene.
 
Authorities did not release the victim’s identity pending family notification.
 
The CHP closed the transition ramp from Highway 101 to 280 Freeway for more than two hours. The ramp reopened about 7:45 a.m., according to the CHP.
 
It was still unclear how many vehicles were involved in the collision. The CHP said at least two vehicles and possibly a third hit the woman.
 
Further investigation is underway.
