Sidnie Waller Dies in Car Crash on 5 Freeway at Sea World Drive

SAN DIEGO, CA (March 15, 2021) Sidnie Waller was killed in a car accident on the 5 Freeway at Sea World Drive on March 4.

According to authorities, the crash happened around 9:10 p.m. in Mission Bay. For unknown reasons, a driver tried exiting Sea World Drive at a high rate of speed. As a result, the vehicle drove off the road and crashed into Tecolote Creek.

Soon after, San Diego Fire-Rescue Department crews arrived and freed 21-year-old Waller, who was a passenger trapped inside the car. They brought her to UC San Diego Medical Center for immediate care.

However, Waller’s condition worsened, and the Saint Martin woman died from a brain injury and heart failure due to drowning. Also, blunt force head injuries contributed to the cause of death.

According to reports, another person involved in the accident refused medical attention.

At this time, loved ones have created a GoFundMe page to benefit the Waller family. In the meantime, authorities plan to investigate the crash further to determine the liabilities.
