MONTEREY PARK, CA (March 8, 2021) – A driver sustained injuries in a truck accident on 60 Freeway, Monday evening.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened at about 9:25 p.m. For reasons still under investigation, a big rig and a minivan collided near Garfield Avenue.
 
The impact of the crash caused the big rig to overturn, trapping the driver in the wreckage.
 
Firefighters arrived and worked over an hour to free the big rig driver. Then, paramedics transported the victim to a hospital with unspecified injuries.
 
The overturned truck blocked nos. 2, 3, and 4 westbound lanes of the freeway. As per reports, the lane closures lasted until early Tuesday morning.
 
CHP continues to investigate the cause of the crash. Officers will release additional information once it becomes available.
