Woman Hurt after Car Accident on Pine Street and East Third Street

 
CHICO, CA (March 10, 2021) — A 53-year-old woman sustained injuries in a car accident on Pine Street in Chico on Saturday, March 6.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened on Pine Street and East Third Street at around 7:40 a.m. Saturday. A 2014 Chevy Tahoe from the Chico Police Department moved westbound on East Third Street. At the same time, a 2010 Nissan Maxima driven by the woman moved south on Pine Street.
 
When CHP officers arrived at the scene, they found the Chico Police Department SUV with major front-end damage. The SUV blocked the No. 2 southbound lane of Pine Street. Officers found the Maxima in the yard of the home at 595 East Third St. with major damage to the left front of the vehicle.
 
The female driver had minor injuries and medics transported her to Enloe Medical Center. The driver of the police SUV was uninjured.
 
Authorities did not report that alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash. CHP continues to investigate the cause of the collision.
