Fatal Fresno Pedestrian Accident on Highway 145, Sergio Hernandez Identified

 
FRESNO, CA (February 4, 2021) – A man was killed in a pedestrian accident on Highway 145, Friday January 22.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened at about 7:00 PM. The pedestrian attempted to cross Highway 145 when a northbound Toyota Rav hit him.
 
The impact of the collision threw the pedestrian onto the road, where a Chevrolet sedan struck him near Belmont Avenue.
 
Emergency crews pronounced the man dead at the scene. He was identified as 45-year-old Sergio Hernandez of Kerman.
 
Meanwhile, both drivers remained and cooperated with investigators. As per reports, the drivers and their passengers did not sustain injuries.
 
Responders temporarily closed Highway 145 between Belmont Avenue and Olive Avenue to make way for an investigation.
 
CHP continues to investigate the cause of the fatal accident. Officers will release additional information once it becomes available.
