1 Dead, 1 Injured in Hit-and-Run Crash near Gettysburg Avenue in Fresno

 
FRESNO, CA (May 6, 2024) — A woman died in a hit-and-run accident near Gettysburg Avenue and First Street.
 
According to Fresno Police officers, the hit-and-run happened around 9:00 p.m. Friday. Upon seeing a vehicle not having its lights on, Fresno Police tried to pull over the driver. However, the driver did not listen and sped off into a neighborhood near Fashion Fair Mall. Subsequently, the car jumped a curb and struck a man in his 30s and a woman near a park.
 
From there, the pair inside the vehicle exited and took off on foot.
 
Minutes later, police and paramedics responded and found the woman with fatal injuries. Officials did not release her name or residence. Paramedics took the man to a nearby hospital in critical condition.
