1 Person Detained at Bickett Street Following Hit-and-Run Accident with Officer in Los Angeles

 
LOS ANGELES, CA (April 12, 2024) — A suspect was arrested at Bickett Street and 54th Street after a hit-and-run crash with a police officer.
 
According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, the hit-and-run happened in downtown Los Angeles around 10:00 a.m. Tuesday. For an unknown reason, a suspect in a transit van struck a sheriff’s patrol car, possibly injuring the deputy. Subsequently, the driver fled the crash and drove onto the 5 South Freeway and surface streets at Garfield and Gage avenues. Meanwhile, deputies were chasing the suspect.
 
However, around 10:10 a.m., the suspect pulled into a business parking lot at Bickett and 54th streets. Upon exiting the van, the man bolted inside the building where deputies quickly arrested him.
