Man Dies in Pedestrian Accident at Polk Avenue in Fresno

 
FRESNO, CA (May 1, 2024) — A pedestrian hit by a car at Polk Avenue and Gettysburg Avenue died moments after the crash.
 
According to Fresno Police, the fatal pedestrian accident happened early Tuesday. Under unclear circumstances, a driver in an unknown vehicle struck a male pedestrian in front of Teague Elementary School. However, the motorist left the scene failing to render aid.
 
Soon after, Fresno Police arrived, and paramedics took the victim to a hospital where he later died. Officials have not released his name, only describing him as an unhoused individual.
