Fatal Pedestrian Accident on Whembly Circle in Menifee

 
MENIFEE, CA (June 13, 2021) – A woman was killed in a pedestrian accident on Whembly Circle south of Menifee Thursday afternoon, June 10.
 
The accident happened around 3:30 p.m. just west of Cherry Hinton Street. According to the California Highway Patrol, a 35-year-old man was exiting his driveway in his 1997 Chevrolet pickup truck, slowly pulling forward, when the victim walked directly in front of him.
 
The right front of the vehicle struck the woman within the northwesterly corner of the residential driveway, officials said.
 
The motorist immediately stopped and called 911. Riverside County Fire Department paramedics responded within a few minutes and pronounced the woman dead at the scene.
 
Police questioned the driver but did not arrest him. No citations has been issued.
 
An investigation into this fatal crash is ongoing.
