Fatal Pedestrian Accident on Rosedale Highway in Northwest Bakersfield
BAKERSFIELD, CA (March 12, 2021) – A woman died after a pedestrian accident on Rosedale Highway in Northwest Bakersfield.
The accident happened just before 7:00 p.m. Thursday, March 4 at the intersection with Dean Avenue, according to the Bakersfield Police Department.
Police said the woman was crossing northbound and was outside a crosswalk when a vehicle struck her. The impact caused the victim major injuries and died at the scene.
The Kern County Coroner’s Office are still trying to confirm her identity. They only described the woman as someone in her mid-40s to mid-50s.
The driver of the vehicle involved in the crash stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
Officials said alcohol and drugs do not appear to have been factors in the collision.
Eastbound and westbound traffic was closed on Rosedale Highway between Calloway Drive and Verdugo Lane for several hours for the investigation.
