Fatal Pedestrian Accident near Hartnell Avenue in Redding
REDDING, CA (March 2, 2021) – A woman was killed in a pedestrian accident near Hartnell Avenue and Victor Avenue Wednesday evening.
According to the Redding Police and Fire personnel, the accident happened around 6:27 p.m., February 24.
Police said the woman was trying to cross the intersection outside of a marked crosswalk when a black 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer hit her.
Arriving units found the victim down in the roadway with major injuries. They rushed her to Mercy Hospital where she later died.
The involved driver remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities.
Investigators said neither drugs nor alcohol played a role in the crash.
