28-Year-Old Pedesrian Dies after Struck by SUV on East Main Street in El Cajon

 
EL CAJON, CA (October 18, 2023) – A woman was killed in a pedestrian accident at East Main Street and Roanoke Road in El Cajon on Monday morning.
 
The fatal accident happened just before 6:30 a.m. on October 16. According to the El Cajon Police Department, a 2016 Kia Soul hit the 28-year-old woman at the intersection in unclear circumstances.
 
A patrol officer arrived to find the victim unconscious on the roadway. They performed CPR on her until paramedics arrived.
 
An ambulance crew then took the woman to a hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.
 
At this time, the identity of the victim was withheld pending notification of her family members.
 
Alcohol and/or drugs are not suspected to be a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
