Early Morning Pedestrian Accident on 680 Freeway in San Ramon Turns Deadly

 
SAN RAMON, CA (August 30, 2021) – A woman was killed in a pedestrian accident on 680 Freeway in San Ramon early Monday morning.
 
The accident happened just before 1:00 a.m. on August 30, at the junction of Bollinger Canyon Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, the female pedestrian was crossing in the southbound lanes of the freeway when a vehicle struck her.
 
As a result, the woman suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. She was not yet identified.
 
After the crash, crews closed the southbound traffic lanes while they cleared the wreckage.
 
It is unknown if the involved driver has stayed after the crash.
 
Authorities are still investigating the circumstances of the accident.
