55-Year-Old Pedestrian Pushing Shopping Cart Dies after Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver on Laurel Canyon Boulevard in Sun Valley

 
SUN VALLEY, CA (April 10, 2023) – A 55-year-old woman was killed in a hit-and-run crash at Laurel Canyon Boulevard and Keswick Street in Sun Valley on Thursday evening.
 
The fatal crash happened around 8:30 p.m. on April 6. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, a pickup truck ran a red light and hit the pedestrian inside a marked crosswalk
 
The woman had been pushing a shopping cart, which got stuck on the vehicle, while she was dragged.
 
The motorist continued south on Laurel Canyon, police said.
 
First responders rushed the woman to a hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries.
 
Police described the pickup as a blue two-tone older-model Toyota or Nissan, which sustained front-end damage.
 
Authorities offered a standing reward of up to $50,000 leading to the arrest and identity of a fatal hit-and-run suspect. They urged anyone with information to contact Valley Traffic Division Detective Davis at 818-644-8032 or 818-644-8000.
