Woman Suffers Injuries in Pedestrian Accident near Ashland and Blackstone Avenues

 
FRESNO, CA (August 9, 2021) – A woman sustained injuries in a pedestrian accident near Ashlan Avenue and Blackstone Avenue Friday evening.
 
The accident happened just after 9:00 p.m. on August 6. According to the Fresno Police Department, the woman was jaywalking near the intersection when a driver saw her walking in the middle of the road. The driver tried to swerve out of the way but it was too late.
 
The car hit the woman and the driver immediately pulled over to call 911.
 
Paramedics arrived soon after and rushed the woman to the hospital with moderate but non-life-threatening injuries.
 
Police said there was no sign that the driver was intoxicated or impaired in any way during the crash. Further investigation is underway.
