Woman Hospitalized in Lake Mathews Head-On Accident With Big Rig on Cajalco Road

 
LAKE MATHEWS, CA (June 24, 2022) — A woman sustained serious injuries in a head-on crash with a big rig on Cajalco Road near Lake Mathews Drive.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the two-vehicle accident took place around 7:00 a.m. on Thursday. For unknown reasons, a woman driving a Honda sedan lost control of her vehicle at a high rate of speed. Subsequently, her vehicle crashed head-on with an oncoming tractor-trailer in the 13300 block of Cajalco Road.
 
As a result, the woman suffered serious injuries and fuel and other fluids cascaded onto the road.
 
Following the crash, Riverside County Fire Department officials reached the scene and extricated the woman from the wreckage. She was brought to Riverside University Medical Center Moreno Valley in serious but stable condition.
 
The driver reported no injuries.
