Car Hits Woman at UTC Mall in San Diego, DUI Hit-and-Run Suspect Arrested
SAN DIEGO, CA (January 22, 2023) – A 65-year-old woman was injured in a DUI hit-and-run crash at Westfield UTC mall in San Diego Monday afternoon.
The crash happened around 3:30 p.m. on January 16, in the area of La Jolla Village Drive. According to the San Diego Police Department, the woman was entering the mall from the parking structure when a Honda Civic struck her on her side, causing her to go up and onto the car before coming to rest on the ground.
The driver, a 33-year-old man, fled the scene after the crash. Police located him a short time later and arrested him for DUI and hit-and-run.
The woman was rushed to a hospital with a broken right leg and other injuries.
