Woman Hurt, Driver Leaves Crash, Assault in Richmond McDonald’s Drive-Thru on 23rd Street

RICHMOND, CA (February 23, 2022) — A woman was hurt after a driver flees a crash and an assault in a McDonald’s drive-thru on 23rd Street near Nevin Avenue on February 5.

According to Richmond Police, the incident happened around 12:16 p.m. Per a cellphone recording, an irate driver exited her car and accused the woman recording the incident of cutting in line of a McDonald’s drive-thru. Subsequently, the upset driver re-entered her vehicle only to strike the woman’s car before she threw what appears to be a water bottle at the woman. Not long after, the driver reportedly punched the woman with the phone, who, at this point, stopped the recording.

Following the onslaught, the driver left the scene, leaving the woman behind and the woman’s children in the vehicle.

At this time, the driver remains unidentified. However, if anyone has more information on this incident, please call Detective O. Guzman at [email protected] or 510-672-2493.
