SANTEE, CA (March 12, 2021) – Crews sent a woman to the hospital after a car plunged into a river in an accident on Highway 52 on March 10.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at Mast Boulevard around 6:25 AM.
 
Based on a report, a semi-truck pulling two trailers filled with dirt had a tire blow out. Subsequently, it collided with the victim’s vehicle, sending it over to the westbound side of the highway. Afterwards, it plunged about 50 to 60 feet off a bridge. Three motorists driving in the area spotted the car lying on its side in the riverbed and went to help by smashing the car’s windows.
 
When the woman got out, she was able to walk to meet paramedics. Immediately, crews transported her to a hospital for treatment.
