VISALIA, CA (January 18, 2022) — A woman died in a head-on crash on Road 140 near Avenue 256 in Visalia on Monday.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal two-vehicle crash happened around 8:30 a.m. For unknown reasons, a 30-year-old woman driving a Nissan with a 6-year-old boy in the back drifted from the northbound lane to the opposing lane.
Subsequently, the Nissan collided head-on with an oncoming Jeep, driven by a 32-year-old who suffered major injuries.
Soon after, authorities and paramedics responded and confirmed that the driver had died at the scene.
Meanwhile, emergency personnel brought the 32-year-old Jeep driver to Kaweah Health Medical Center with major injuries and care for the child who suffered minor injuries.
At this point, officers do not suspect drugs, alcohol or speeding to have played a role in the accident. However, an investigation into this case should confirm more details.
