Two-Vehicle Crash in West Sacramento Kills 43-Year-Old Man

 
WEST SACRAMENTO, CA (December 13, 2023) – Willie James Vernon Jr. was killed in a two-vehicle accident in West Sacramento Monday evening on December 11.
 
The fatal accident happened around 9:20 p.m. at West Capitol Avenue and Westacre Road. According to the West Sacramento Police Department, one vehicle run a red light before crashing into the other vehicle.
 
Vernon was one of the involved drivers, whose vehicle was wrapped around a tree. He died at the scene. He was a 43-year-old Sacramento resident, according to the Yolo County Coroner’s Office.
 
Three other people were injured, two of them were in critical condition.
 
At this time, it is unknwon if drugs or alcohol was a factor. Further investigation is underway.
