Car Hit and Damaged by Train on Highway 120 near McHenry Avenue and 1st Street

 
ESCALON, CA (April 25, 2022) – A vehicle was hit by a train on Highway 120 on Saturday evening, April 23.
 
According to the Escalon Police Department, the driver reportedly mistook the BNSF railroad tracks for a road and drove onto the tracks.
 
Then, the vehicle got stuck on the tracks. As per reports, the driver was able to exit the vehicle before it was hit by the train.
 
The driver of the vehicle did not sustain any injuries.
 
Emergency responders closed Highway 120 between McHenry Avenue and 1st Street for at least three hours.
 
Escalon police continue to investigate the accident. Officers will release additional information once it becomes available.
