64-Year-Old Man Dies after Colliding with Wrong-Way Driver in Van Nuys

 
VAN NUYS, CA (August 8, 2023) – Vatkes Nalbandian was killed in a wrong-way accident in Van Nuys late Sunday evening on August 6.
 
The fatal accident happened around 11:00 p.m. at Victory Boulevard and Columbus Avenue. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, a 24-year-old man was driving eastbound on Victory Boulevard when he crossed over to the westbound side.
 
While driving the wrong-way, the man collided with a vehicle driven by Nalbandian.
 
Nalbandian suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. He was 64 years old, according to the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner.
 
The wrong-way driver remained on scene.
 
Authorities are still investigating the factors involved in the crash.
