Early Morning Wrong-Way Crash on Highway 101 in San Francisco Leaves Two Driver Dead

 
SAN FRANCISCO, CA (August 29, 2023) – Two people were killed in a wrong-way crash on Highway 101 in San Francisco early Sunday morning on August 27.
 
The fatal crash happened just before 3:00 a.m. just south of Silver Avenue. According to the California Highway Patrol, a silver Nissan Altima was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of the highway when it collided head-on with a silver Honda Civic.
 
As a result, both drivers suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. They were not yet identified.
 
A passenger in the Civic was taken to San Francisco General Hospital with major injuries.
 
No other information available at this time. Authorities are still investigating whether alcohol and drugs were factors in the crash.
