Rollover Crash on Fifth Street in Oxnard Kills Man and Woman

 
OXNARD, CA (February 13, 2023) – Two adults were killed in a rollover accident at Fifth Street and Portofino Place early Sunday morning on February 12.
 
The fatal accident happened just after midnight in a residential area south of the Oxnard Airport. Police said a 2020 Honda Civic was traveling west on Fifth Street in the outside lane by the sidewalk when it clipped a 2022 Hyundai Sonata going in the same direction in the interior lane. The Civic spun and rolled over until it came to rest in the eastbound lanes of the street going the opposite direction.
 
As a result, the male occupant of the Civic died at the scene. A female occupant was pronounced dead at the hospital.
 
The driver and sole occupant of the Sonata remained on scene and cooperated with police. They did not sustain any injuries.
 
The names of the deceased individuals are being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
