Head-On Crash on Highway 177 in Desert Center Kills 2 People and Seriously Injures Another
DESERT CENTER, CA (October 15, 2023) – Two people were killed in a head-on accident on Highway 177 in Desert Center Saturday afternoon on October 14.
The fatal accident happened just before 1:00 p.m. near mile marker 13. According to the Riverside County Fire Department, a Subaru Forester was traveling southbound on the highway when the driver allegedly crossed over the broken yellow lines and crashed head-on into a Honda Pilot. Both cars overturned from the impact.
The 24-year-old female driver of the Subaru and a 54-year-old male occupant of Honda were pronounced dead at the scene.
A 54-year-old woman in the Honda was airlifted to a hospital with serious injuries.
Neither alcohol nor drugs were suspected factors in the crash, which is still under investigation.
