Two Dead in Pittsburg DUI Accident on Leland Road

 
PITTSBURG, CA (April 13, 2021) — Two people died in a DUI accident on Leland Road near John Henry Johnson Parkway Monday evening.
 
According to Contra Costa Fire Department officials, the fatal two-car crash happened around 6:00 p.m. For DUI-related reasons, a driver of a Chevy Camaro was speeding down Leland Road. Subsequently, the driver lost control of the vehicle and rear-ended a Toyota Corolla.
 
Due to the forceful impact, the Corolla lost control and struck a tree, reportedly ejecting three juveniles from the vehicle.
 
Following the crash, paramedics responded and pronounced the driver of the Toyota dead at the scene. Shortly after, one of the critically injured children riding in the Corolla died a short time later.
 
Meanwhile, the Chevy Camaro driver escaped harm while his passengers sustained serious injuries, further requiring hospital care.
 
At this time, authorities have suspected DUI to have had played a role in the accident. However, if anyone has more information on this fatal accident, please contact the police.
