Traffic Accident on Highway 65 in Yuba County Involves Deputy

 
YUBA COUNTY, CA (March 25, 2024) – Two people were injured in a traffic accident on Highway 65 in Yuba County Saturday night on March 23.
 
The accident happened around 6:00 p.m. near Evergreen Drive. According to the Yuba County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy was responding to a report of two unresponsive subjects at Camp Far West Reservoir when the crash occurred.
 
Paramedics arrived and took two people to a hospital with moderate injuries. One of the patients was the deputy, while the other party was the other driver involved.
 
Heavy hail was on the ground at the time of the crash, closing the roadway from Oakley Lane to Evergreen Drive for roughly two hours.
 
Deputies said they later discovered the two subjects to whom the sheriff’s office was responding were unresponsive due to an overdose.
 
Further investigation is underway.
