The incident occurred after 1 a.m., according to Clovis Police. It involved a pickup truck with two occupants, one of which was a female. An initial investigation showed that the driver veered off the road while nearing Larkin Avenue.
 
The truck struck the tree and subsequently flipped onto its side. First responders had to extract one person from the vehicle. They transported both the driver and the passenger to a hospital.
