Traffic Snarled after Four-Car Accident on 580 Freeway near 205 Freeway

 
TRACY, CA (March 29, 2022) — Traffic was congested after a four-car crash on 580 Freeway just after 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 26.
 
The accident happened just east of the gore point, where 580 Freeway separates from 205 Freeway as it heads south toward Fresno and Los Angeles.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, there were no injuries in the incident. However, it caused the eastbound backup on the 580 Freeway through the Altamont Pass.
 
At around 4:45 p.m., eastbound I-580 traffic backed up to  just west of Greenville Road in Livermore.
 
There are no reports on how or why the incident happened.
