Teenage Boy Dies after Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver on Highway 62 in Yucca Valley

 
YUCCA VALLEY, CA (January 28, 2024) – A male teen was killed in a hit-and-run crash on Highway 62 Yucca Valley Friday evening on January 26.
 
The fatal crash happened around 8:30 p.m. near Avalon Avenue. According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, deputies were patrolling the highway when they discovered the teen unresponsive near the center median.
 
Deputies render aid to the victim before taking him to Hi-Desert Medical Center.
 
Despite life-saving efforts at the hospital, the teen did not survive and was pronounced dead. His identity was not immediately available.
 
Deputies said the teen appeared to have been struck by a vehicle that had fled the scene.
