16-Year-Old Detained, 1 Hurt After Police Pursuit Ends in Waring Road Crash in San Diego
SAN DIEGO, CA (January 11, 2024) — One person was injured in a police chase accident at Waring Road and Zion Avenue.
According to reports, the incident happened around 3:30 a.m. Tuesday. After seeing an SUV run a red light, the San Diego Police Department’s Eastern Division attempted a traffic stop. However, the driver did not yield, and a chase took place. At some point during the chase, the driver traveled on the wrong side of the road before the suspect crashed into a second car.
Soon after, paramedics arrived and treated at least one person with unknown injuries. Reports did not confirm if the injured patient was a suspect or a person in the vehicle that was hit.
Following an investigation, police took two people into custody, including a 16-year-old boy.
