Tammi Truschke-Harpster Detained, Samuel Luce Unharmed in Deadly Multi-Car DUI Crash on Highway 108 near Draper Mine Road
JAMESTOWN, CA (May 16, 2023) — Tammi Truschke-Harpster was arrested in a fatal multi-car accident on Highway 108 near Draper Mine Road.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal multi-vehicle collision happened around 5:08 p.m. Thursday. Tammi Lee Ann Truschke-Harpster approached the rear of a westbound 2019 Kia Optima on Highway 108. Failing to yield, Truschke-Harpster’s 2020 Dodge Ram 2500 struck the back of the Kia, pushing it into the path of an oncoming 2015 Ford F-350.
The F-350 struck the right side of the Kia. As the F-350 overturned on its side and rested on the south shoulder, the Ram stopped on the north shoulder.
Moments later, paramedics arrived and brought the unidentified Kia driver to Doctors Medical Center in Modesto, where the 39-year-old Angels Camp man passed away.
Truschke-Harpster, who sustained minor injuries, was arrested on DUI charges. While paramedics took her to Adventist Health Sonora, Samuel Luce, of Jamestown — the driver of the Ford — reported no injuries.
