Rancho Cordova Dies after Two Vehicles Collide on Florin Road near South Watt Avenue

 
SACRAMENTO COUNTY, CA (December 7, 2022) – Steven Julio Agosto was killed in a two-vehicle accident in Sacramento County’s Vineyard area Sunday evening on December 4.
 
The accident happened around 7:41 p.m. on Florin Rod near South Watt Avenue. According to the CHP, a 2016 Ford was speeding westbound on Florin Road when it allegedly ran a red light at the intersection. It then broadsided a 2014 Toyota that was traveling at approximately 30 to 40 mph on a green light. The impact caused the Ford to overturn on its roof in a ditch.
 
Agosto, a 38-year-old Rancho Cordova resident, was a passenger in the Ford and was not wearing a seat belt. He died at the hospital, according to the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office.
 
The driver of the Ford suffered minor injuries.
 
Meanwhile, the driver of the Toyota was unharmed.
 
Neither alcohol nor drugs appear to be factors in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
