Coroner Identifies Spencer Smith as Fatal Victim of Riverside Multi-Vehicle Crash on 215 Freeway
RIVERSIDE, CA (January 9, 2022) – Spencer Smith was killed in a multi-vehicle accident on 215 Freeway in Riverside Friday afternoon.
The accident happened around 2:10 p.m. on January 7, near Columbia Avenue. According to the California Highway Patrol, Smith was in a Jeep which was involved in a traffic collision involving several other vehicles. After the collision, he exited the vehicle when another car struck him.
Officers arrived to find Smith lying in the fast lane. Paramedics then rushed him to Riverside Community Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Smith was 38 years old, according to the Riverside County Coroner’s Office.
It is unknown at this time if drugs or alcoho played a role in the collision. Further investigation is underway.
