Police Arrest Two Women for DUI and Hit-and-Run Charges after Striking 6 Pedestrians in Valencia

 
VALENCIA, CA (November 6, 2023) – Six people were injured and two women were arrested after a DUI hit-and-run crash in Valencia early Sunday morning on November 5.
 
The crash happened just after 1:45 a.m. in the 24000 block of Town Center Drive near Black and Blue Restaurant in the Valencia Town Center. According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, the two women were seen doing doughnuts in front of the restaurant.
 
The two women were identified as 29-year-old Desarae Miranda and 24-year-old Alejandra Lopez, both from Newhall. One of them was driving and the other was hanging out of the window, when the car lost control and struck at least six pedestrians before colliding into a wall.
 
After driving into the crowd, the SUV fled the scene and slammed into two parked vehicles in the process.
 
Responding paramedics treated the six injured pedestrians at the scene.

Shortly after, police located the suspects and arrested them for DUI and hit-and-run charges.

Deputies suspected the intoxicated driver swapped seats with the intoxicated passenger shortly after the crash.

An investigation into this crash is ongoing.
