Car Crashes into Light Pole in Murrieta Killing the Driver and Injuring the Passenger

 
MURRIETA, CA (April 21, 2022) – Sharmaine Legaspi was killed in a car accident in Murrieta, late Sunday evening.
 
The accident happened around 11:00 p.m. on April 17 in the area of Murrieta Hot Springs Road, just east of Whitewood Road. According to the Murrieta Police Department, Legaspi was a driving a compact sedan westbound when she lost control of the car for unknown reasons. She then veered off the six-lane corridor, drove over the north sidewalk and struck a light pole.
 
As a result, Legaspi suffered significant injuries and died at the scene. She was a 17-year-old Murrieta resident, according to the Riverside County Coroner’s Office.
 
Meanwhile, paramedics transported the 19-year-old passenger to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
