Big Rig Overturns after High-Speed Accident on Cedar Avenue near Conejo Avenue in Fresno

FRESNO, CA (September 16, 2022) – At least three people sustained injuries in a high-speed accident on Cedar Avenue on Wednesday evening.

According to the Fresno Police Department, the incident happened on September 14 at about 6:30 p.m. Officers located a speeding silver SUV that matched the description of a vehicle involved in a shooting in southwest Fresno.

As per reports, an officer attempted to pull over the SUV. However, the driver failed to stop and immediately fled the area.

A police helicopter tracked the SUV traveling south on Highway 41 at 120 miles per hour. Then, the SUV crashed into a big rig at the intersection of Cedar Avenue and Conejo Avenue.

The impact of the collision caused the big rig to overturn.

Emergency crews transported three to four victims to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Meanwhile, the SUV driver and the big rig driver did not sustain injuries in the collision.

Fresno police continue to investigate the cause of the accident and the involvement of the SUV in the shooting.
