Several Hospitalized in Head-On Crash on Highway 99 in Butte County

 
BUTTE COUNTY, CA (February 28, 2022) — Several people suffered minor injuries in a head-on accident on Highway 99 near Chico.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the head-on crash happened Wednesday and involved three cars. During unclear road conditions, a driver attempted to pass up a slow-moving vehicle by using the oncoming lane.
 
However, that driver made an unsafe pass and subsequently collided with a vehicle head-on.
 
Soon after, emergency personnel reached the scene and brought all parties to Enloe Medical Center with minor injuries.
 
At this time, officers do not suspect alcohol or drugs to have played a factor in this accident. Although, any witnesses with information should reach out to the CHP.
