Sleeping Woman Suffers Serious Injuries when High-Speed Chase Ends in Hit-and-Run Crash in Tulare
TULARE, CA (May 25, 2021) – Sebastian Rodriguez is wanted by police after a hit-and-run crash in Tulare Thursday, May 20.
The incident happened around 11:30 p.m. on Levin Avenue at Spruce Street. According to the Tulare Police Department, officers spotted a GMC Yukon leaving a business at high speeds. They tried to catch up to the vehicle but the driver took off reaching speeds up to 100 mph.
The 30-year-old suspect from Tulare lost control of the car and crashed into two homes. Two elderly women were sleeping in one of the homes.
Rodriguez then got out of the car and fled the scene. His passenger, 20-year-old Joshua Requejo-Gonzalez, also tried to escape, but police were able to catch him.
Meanwhile, one of the women was trapped inside the house, but firefighters were able to help her. Paramedics took her to a local hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
The other woman was unharmed.
Police booked Requejo-Gonzalez and charged him with resisting or obstructing a police officer.
