Rodrigo Hernandez Killed, Samuel Reyes Arrested in DUI Hit-and-Run Crash on East Parkridge Avenue [Corona, CA]

Pedestrian Dies after Struck by DUI Hit-and-Run Driver in Corona

 
CORONA, CA (October 23, 2023) – Rodrigo Hernandez was killed in a DUI hit-and-run crash in Corona Thursday evening on October 19.
 
The fatal crash happened around 10:10 p.m. in the 200 block of East Parkridge Avenue. According to the Corona Police Department, 53-year-old Samuel Reyes of Riverside was driving a vehicle when he struck Hernandez and fled the scene.
 
First responders found Hernandez lying on the roadway with significant injuries and surrounded by vehicle debris.
 
Despite life-saving efforts, Hernandez was pronounced dead at the scene. He was 40 years old from Corona.
 
Officers later located the vehicle in the 300 block of North McKinley Street with damage consistent with the crash. They arrested Reyes on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, but later released him.
