45-Year-Old Man Dies after Struck by Car in Yuba City

YUBA CITY, CA (September 29, 2023) – Rico Moreno was hit and killed by a car in Yuba City Wednesday morning on September 27.

The fatal crash happened just before 5:44 a.m. on Stabler Lane near Poole Boulevard, in front of Mallen’s Automobile. According to the Yuba City Police Department, 75-year-old Davinder Takhar of Yuba City was driving a Toyota Corolla at approximately 35 mph when she struck Moreno on the street.

Moreno suffered significant injuries and died at the scene. He was 45 years old from Yuba City.

Neither alcohol nor drugs were suspected factors in the crash, police said.

Takhar remained on the scene and cooperated with officers. As of Wednesday afternoon, she was not facing any charges.

Further investigation is underway.
