60-Year-Old Raymond Triola Dead after Pedestrian Accident on Highway 101 in San Rafael

 
SAN RAFAEL, CA (March 17, 2022) – Authorities identified 60-year-old Raymond Dominick Triola as the pedestrian killed in an accident on Highway 101, early Wednesday morning.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened on March 16, at about 3:34 a.m. A 2020 Ford transit van reportedly failed to stop in time due to a curve in the road. Then, the vehicle hit Triola near San Pedro Road off-ramp.
 
Emergency crews later pronounced Triola dead at the scene.
 
Meanwhile, the driver of the van remained and cooperated with investigators.
 
Responders temporarily closed three left lanes of southbound Highway 101 to make way for an investigation.
 
CHP continues to investigate the cause of the fatal accident. Officers will release additional information once it becomes available.
