Boat Accident in San Joaquin County Leaves Two People Dead

 
SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY, CA (March 11, 2024) – Quang Lu and Navin Lu died in a boat Accident in San Joaquin County Saturday afternoon on March 9.
 
The fatal accident happened around 5:00 p.m. along the Mokelumne River, just north of Tower Park Marina off Highway 12. According to the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office, they responded to the scene and were able to pull two people from the water, a juvenile and an adult.
 
Deputies said the person recovered from the water had severe injuries and was pronounced dead.
 
Another person involved was later located and was also pronounced dead.
 
The San Joaquin County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the fatal victims as 41-year-old Quang Lu of Elk Grove and 21-year-old Navin Lu of Oakland.
 
The child who was also involved survived in the accident.
 
At this time, it is still unclear how the accident occurred. An investigation is underway.
