55-Year-Old Man Dies after Struck by Hit-and-Run Vehicle in Van Nuys

 
VAN NUYS, CA (February 6, 2023) – Peter Escalante was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Van Nuys Friday evening on February 3.
 
The fatal crash happened around 10:15 p.m. at Oxnard Street and Woodman Avenue. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, Escalante was crossing the street when a dark-colored vehicle struck him.
 
After striking the victim, the vehicle drove away without stopping.
 
Escalante sufffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. He was a 55-year-old Van Nuys resident.
 
A reward of up to $50,000 is available to people who can provide information leading to a hit-and-run motorist’s identification, apprehension and conviction or resolution through civil compromise.
