1 Person Dies in Highway 371 Pedestrian Crash in Anza
ANZA, CA (June 16, 2023) — A pedestrian was struck and killed in an accident on Highway 371 near Highway 79 Thursday afternoon.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the pedestrian accident happened around 2:35 p.m. At the two-lane corridor of the Highway 371 and Highway 79 junction, a driver of a Ford F-150 pickup hit a pedestrian walking.
Moments later, the Riverside County Fire Department arrived to assist but declared the victim deceased at the scene. The driver of the Ford reported no injuries in the crash and stayed for questioning.
Investigators did not say why the victim was on the highway at the time or the circumstances that led to the accident. However, a full investigation should confirm any outstanding details.
