Police Arrest Rachel Medlin for DUI Hit-and-Run after Striking and Badly Injuring Pedestrian in Yuba City

 
YUBA CITY, CA (February 26, 2022) – A pedestrian suffered serious injuries and police arrested Rachel Medlin for DUI hit-and-run after crash in Yuba City.
 
The crash happened around 10:50 p.m. on February 22 on Bridge Street at Plumas Street. According to the Yuba City Police Department, the 25-year-old suspect from Grass Valley was driving her vehicle when she struck the pedestrian at the intersection.
 
After hitting the victim, Medlin fled the scene without rendering aid.
 
Responding paramedics rushed the pedestrian to Adventist Health and Rideout Hospital with major but non-life-threatening injuries.
 
A witness gave officers a description of the vehicle and its driver. A Sutter County sheriff’s deputy spotted the suspect vehicle and Medlin in the 3000 block of Walton Avenue, a few miles from the crash site.
 
Officers later determined that Medlin was under the influence of illegal narcotics. They arrested her for DUI and hit-and-run charges, and driving without a valid license. They booked her at the Sutter County Jail.
 
Further investigation is underway.
