Police Arrest Jesus Hernandez for DUI after Fatally Striking Pankaj Gautam in Sonoma County

 
SONOMA COUNTY, CA (February 25, 2022) – A pedestrian died after being hit by a car on Highway 101 north in Sonoma County on February 19.
 
According to the Sonoma County Coroner’s Office, the pedestrian has been identified as 37-year-old Pankaj Gautam. No city of residence was available for Gautam.
 
The fatal accident happened just after 4:00 a.m. on Highway 101 south of River Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, Gautam was walking on the freeway when he was hit by a Honda Pilot traveling southbound.
 
Gautam suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.
 
Police identified the driver as 29-year-old Jesus O. Jimenez Hernandez, who pulled over at the scene. After that, police arrested him on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
